Criteria for the Athletic Hall of Fame

The Bangor Slater Athletic Hall of Fame establishes pride and preserves the tradition of the BAHS athletic program by honoring those who have made a significant contribution to Bangor Area High School athletics. A member of the Bangor Athletic Hall of Fame may include the following:

1. • Players who have graduated at least 10 years before their selection and who have demonstrated distinguished achievement in athletics.

2. • Coaches who have coached for at least five full seasons and who have demonstrated an unusually high degree of success relative to the sport.

3. • Any other individual who has made a significant contribution to Bangor Area High School athletics.

Criteria for a Team of Distinction

In an effort to honor outstanding team accomplishments in athletics, the BAHS Alumni Association and the Athletic Hall of Fame are also honoring Teams of Distinction. The criteria for this award is that a BAHS varsity team must have an outstanding accomplishment which may include a team championship, an undefeated season, or any unique recognition not made by another team in its respective sport. Nominations for this honor will be accepted 10 years after the team has distinguished itself.
