A brief parents meeting will follow Thursday's practice at 4:30. Please make an effort to attend! I will introduce myself, answer any questions you may have, and address a few other topics of interest. If you cannot attend, see me after practice on another day or speak with another parent.

Prior to Thursday's practice (at 2:05 p.m.), any 7th grader who has not taken the impact test this school year will take it in Miss Moyer's Room (132). He/she will report to practice directly following the test. This test also has to be completed by any 8th grader who did not take the test as a 7th grader.

Practice begins Monday. Please listen to announcements for possible cancelation due to weather. Much of this will depend on field conditions as well as ongoing rain.

This is a reminder that tomorrow, February 25, 2014, physicals will be held at BAHS from 3:00-7:00 p.m. If you did not receive a form, see Coach Wehr in Room 104 for a form or access the document on slaterathletics.org.

Specific details are on slaterathletics.org. Cost is $5.

Just a reminder that voluntary summer workouts for all girls begin next Monday, June 23 at 6:30 pm. A parents meeting will also take place at 6:30. If you are a middle school parent, you do not need to attend this meeting. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Wilson or Coach Wehr. Make your best effort to attend the workouts throughout the summer.

First and foremost, I would like to thank all parents & players for a great season. A lot was accomplished as a group this season, and I felt that we performed consistently well from the start to the end of the season. Great job, team!

Now that the summer is approaching, I would like all 7th and 8th graders to consider what is next for them on the soccer field. There are a variety of options to consider, and I HOPE that you take up one of them!

7th and 8th grade boys, please know that voluntary summer workouts will be held throughout the summer with Coach White. See me or contact Coach White for information.

7th and 8th grade girls, we will also hold voluntary summer workouts. See me for details!

Remember this: you will not improve as a soccer player if you do not put forth any work between now and the next season. Do not be content; strive to be better.

As another option, specifically for current 7th graders, Slate Belt soccer already held sign-ups, but it is never too late to sign up. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT play in-house soccer; please play travel soccer for Slate Belt at the very least. Visit their website for sign-up information. In-house will be a step backwards to your development as a soccer player; travel soccer is a step down from middle school soccer, but it still remains as a competitive form of soccer. There are also various clubs in the area that you could pursue. If you do not know where to go with that, again, please see me for some direction.

The coed middle soccer game Salisbury at Bangor scheduled for Thursday, May 1^st has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, May 21^st. The game will be played at Bangor and begin at 4:00pm. 

Tomorrow, the Maroon team will travel to Notre Dame East Stroudsburg for a 4:00 game. The white team will practice from 2:45-4:30 p.m. with Coach Strouse.

Next, pictures will be held prior to the home game vs. Catasauqua next Wednesday. This game was previously scheduled for next Thursday. Picture forms will go out tomorrow.

Lastly, t-shirt orders are going to extend into Monday. Please have order forms to Coach Wehr or Coach Strouse by Monday.

Yesterday's rain-out at NDES is rescheduled for this Friday at 4:00 p.m. The bus leaves at 2:45 p.m. The maroon/A team will travel; the B/white team will have practice from 2:45 to 4:30.

Next Thursday's HOME game (May 8) vs. Catasauqua has moved to Wednesday, May 7. The first game will still begin at 4:00 p.m.

As for pictures, they are still scheduled for May 8; however, there may be a change with those to May 7 (or a later date). Stay tuned.

This Tuesday's game at Notre Dame East Stroudsburg will involve players on the Maroon (A) team only! Furthermore, only these players will travel for the game.

Those who are strictly on the White (B) team will have practice from 2:30 to 4:30 with Coach Strouse.

Today's practice concludes at normal time (4:30 p.m.). In other news, we will have team pictures on Thursday, May 8th with Mr. Jancovic. I will provide order forms early next week!

If you would like to purchase an individual picture and team picture, please bring the order form and money with you that day. Pictures will take place prior to the game at 2:30 p.m.

All players will be in the team photo regardless of whether or not they are purchasing a photo.

The Boys Basketball Booster Club is holding a fundraiser at The Slate Pub in Pen Argyl on Tuesday, September 10th from noon until closing.  20% of all food purchased during that time, either dine in or take out, will be donated to the Boy's Basketball Booster Club.  This is a fantastic way to raise money for the program without having to go out, take time from your busy schedule, and ask people to buy something!!  Everyone has to eat and I'm sure mom or dad wouldn't mind a night off from cooking.  Please tell everyone you know to come out and support the boy's basketball team!
