Coach Kyle Eckley attended Bald Eagle NIttany High School where he was a 3-year starter for the Panthers’ varsity basketball team. Know for playing aggressive pressure defense, Eckley led the West Branch Conference in steals his junior and senior years.
After high school Coach Eckley attended Lock Haven University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. Eckley was hired by Keystone Central School District to teach at Central Mountain Middle School. Here, Coach Eckley taught American History to eighth grade students.
Eckley began his coaching career at Central Mountain while coaching the middle school boys’ basketball team. Here, Coach Eckley was named Head Middle School coach. His up-tempo and defensive minded teams earned a record of 57-21 over the four years as coach.
Coach Eckley has recently relocated to the Lehigh Valley area. He joins the Slaters’ coaching staff this season where he hopes to contribute to the continued success of the Bangor Basketball Program.
Energetic, fast paced, and passionate will be the words Eckley envisions to be used to describe the team and style of play for the 2013-14 season. GO SLATERS!!
