One tough win for the Slaters.  The boys started the game down 3 starters and down another senior due to other commitments.   Becca was chippy to say the least with numerous aggressive challenges, some called by the officials some not.  But the Bangor boys took their lumps and kept fighting through the fast aggressive pace of Becca.  Nick Hagan got the Slaters on the board first with a 45 yard lazier of a Direct Kick that went far post upper 90.  It was awesome!  Becca kept coming and Matt Palmer as well as Sophomore Jon Absalom made some great defensive saves to keep the game 1-0 at the half.

The second half started slow for the Slaters while Becca turned up the heat. To make matters worse for our boys two of our top defenders collided 10 minutes into the half and had to leave the field. Matt McCoy would return 15 minutes later bloodied but not broken. However,  Nate Simineri could not return due to the seriousness of his injury.   With about 8 minute to play Becca eventually punched one by our defensive and into the net.

Becca continued to pressure but the Slater Boys wouldn't quit.  Becca had several chances off corners but only one found it's way past our goalie Matt Palmer.  With everyone on Becca's side cheering goal and everyone on Bangor's side saying OH NO,  a well positioned, focused, and determined Slater Mike Mazzella headed the ball from the goal line away to cheers and a thank you from his goalie.

Moments later Rui Marcedo attacked Becca's 18 and was taken out in the box.  A PK was awarded and Nick Hagan scored the winning goal with less then 3 minutes to play.  Becca kept coming but to no avail.

Bangor had outstanding play from other Slaters  too, such as, Paxton Ramsey, Tyler Learn, Rui Marcedo, Garrett Nelson, and many others who just wouldn't give up.  Great job boys on your 3-0 start.
